Report No. <br /> Recreation &Environmental Commission to review the item. 11-034. <br /> Director of Public Works Grant Wyffels reported he has had conversations with Parks & Recreation <br /> Director Sandy Breuer, she agrees this project meets their expectations. Director Wyffels intends on <br /> being at the Parks, Recreation & Environmental Commission meeting February 2nd to discuss this and Public Hearing <br /> other trail projects. Councilmember Phillips expressed concern with going forward with the vote prior to 1, provem Public <br /> Iment <br /> the review of the Parks, Recreation& Environmental Commission. Hearing to Consider <br /> Project 10-10. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Samuelson to open the public Report No. 11-011. <br /> hearing, listen to staff presentation, and table the item until the February 8,2011 meeting. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> City Engineer Craig Schlichting reported in March of 2010, the City Council accepted the petition <br /> and authorized City staff to prepare a feasibility study for the installation of a concrete sidewalk on 1st <br /> Avenue NW from 14th Street NW to Old Highway 8, and continuing north along the east side of Old <br /> Highway 8 to County Road 96. <br /> On November 15, 2010, an informational meeting was held with residents and businesses to be <br /> affected by this proposed project. At the November 23, 2010, council meeting the City Council <br /> accepted the Feasibility Study for Project 10-10 and set the Public Improvement Hearing for January <br /> 25, 2011. Notices of the Public Improvement Hearing were mailed to the property owners to be <br /> affected by this proposed sidewalk construction project, and published in the local newspaper. <br /> A visual overview was presented, showing the proposed sidewalk. Total project costs are estimated at <br /> $170,000. <br /> Councilmember Bauman thanked staff for their work, and asked if there were specific concerns expressed <br /> by Director Breuer. Director Wyffels reported the only concern was the lack of a multi use trail on the <br /> original plan. Director Wyffels stated the trail is now included, and PREC will have an opportunity for <br />
