Commissioner Benke asked if Welsh has thought about a hotel development. <br /> Lou Suarez commented that the current Hilton Homewood Suites serves the area very well, and does not <br /> see a need for an additional hotel. <br /> Commissioner Benke reminded the group that Long Lake Regional Park and the New Brighton <br /> Community Center are great marketing amenities. <br /> Commissioner Flahave questioned what differentiates Welsh from Northmarq. Mr. Lien stated they are <br /> both good brokers, and Welsh will not compete against other developers. Mr. Gonsior commented they <br /> are a committed group who enjoy their work. <br /> Commissioner Beach asked if they have hospital experience. Mr. Suarez stated a hospital would be <br /> pretty unlikely given the legislative hurdles,but could possibly see a smaller health care clinic. <br /> Director Fernelius reported the EDC will discuss today's interviews as well as the recent Developer <br /> interviews at their next meeting;April 19th, and would hope to have a recommendation to the City <br /> Council following that meeting. <br /> The meeting ended at 9:45. <br />
