RESOLUTION NO. <br />11-045 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO ADOPT "NEW BRIGHTON EXCHANGE" AS <br />NEW NAME FOR THE NORTHWEST QUADRANT REDEVELOPMENT AREA. <br />WHEREAS, in October of 2009 Risdall Marketing Group was commissioned to rebrand <br />type Northwest Quadrant redevelopment area by establishing a new name, logo and tagline, and <br />WHEREAS, collectively the City Council was unsatisfied with the results of that effort <br />WHEREAS, in May and June of 2010 the Northwest Quadrant Naming Contest was <br />;d, which produced a list of over 100 possible names from the general public, and <br />WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission narrowed the results of the <br />contest to seven names, which were forwarded to the City Council for consideration, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council held three separate work sessions in March and April of <br />1 to discuss a new name and select a font type and logo, and <br />WHEREAS, in a work session on April 5, 2011 the City Council selected New Brighton <br />ange as the new name for the Northwest Quadrant, using a script font and leaf logo in <br />rdance with option "E" of the attachment to the City Council memo for the April 12, 2011 <br />Council meeting, and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of New <br />,n adopts New Brighton Exchange, with script font and a leaf logo to conclude the <br />ling effort for the Northwest Quadrant redevelopment area. <br />this 12th day of April 2011 <br />Dave Jaco en, Mayor <br />'L�- <br />Dean R.
