-2- The Safe Route to Schools route in Hansen Park ends at 7th Street. It would be nice if we could have an on street, striped bike lane on 13th Ave. The map shows this street will be redone in 2011. The issue will be if the street(on 13th Ave) is wide enough to stripe. Since money is already allocated to redo that street, it seems like a good time to do the striping. For now, it would be nice to bring the on street bike lane up to the New Brighton Care Center. We would eventually like to see the bike lane continue s r onnects in front of Public Safety and past City Hall and then dow •hn's. Ii urg stated this commission will have a new liaison next month; vid Phillips. • T - library name is proposed as the New Brighton Library. Library Commissioners still need to vote on it. • The new parking lot for the library is scheduled to be in before or as close to opening as possible. • The library wanted a larger entrance area and in order to do that we would have to change our birthday party room layout. After the library reviewed it, the design did not work for them and they will make some minor changes which will make the entrance bigger than the original proposal. • Breuer stated another proposal is to have a sidewalk on loth Street on the north side.
