iY of
111 NEW
BRIGHT ON
the city that works for you
Council Worksession
February 8, 2011
5:30 pm
Present: Mayor Jacobsen,
Councilmember Phillips
Councilmember Samuelson
Councilmember Bauman
Councilmember Burg
Absent:
Staff in attendance: City Manager Dean Lotter, Parks and Recreation Director Sandy
Breuer and Finance Director Dan Maiers
5:30 Council discussed the Parks Commission recommendation on goose
management practices in the City of New Brighton. Council directed staff
to present this item to the Council at a regular meeting for their
consideration. Council was supportive of trying a hybrid of their
traditional goose management practices and a program of egg addling.
Council discussed their policy of term limits as it related to the city's
commissions. The Council decided to keep their policy of term limits in
place and apply it to the commissions for the second year in a row. They
determined that this policy provides more opportunities for citizens to get
involved with the City by serving on a commission.
The utility rate discussion was postponed.
The meeting began at 5:30 pm.
The meeting adjourned at 6:25 pm.
