Report Number 11-186 <br /> BRIGUrraNAgenda Section VI-2 <br /> the city that works for you Council Meeting Date July 12,2011 <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consideration of the final plat of NEW BRIGHTON EXCHANGE 1ST <br /> ADDITION (formerly NORTHWEST QUADRANT EAST), creating Outlots A — D within New <br /> Brighton Exchange. <br /> DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: Grant Fernelius, Community Development Director <br /> CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: SsZG <br /> No comments to supplement this report )C Comments attached <br /> 15.99 Deadline: Not applicable—city initiated request <br /> Recommendation: Adopt the attached Resolution, approving the final plat and directing staff to record <br /> the plat at the Ramsey County Recorders Office. <br /> Legislative History: June 21, 2011: The Planning Commission reviewed the proposed final plat and <br /> recommended approval. <br /> February 22, 2011: The City Council adopted Resolution 11-029, approving the Preliminary Plat of <br /> Northwest Quadrant East. <br /> Financial Impact: The City has incurred surveying costs associated with preparation of the preliminary <br /> and final plat drawings. A smaller fee will be incurred to record the plat with the Ramsey County <br /> Recorders Office. <br /> Explanation: City staff is requesting final plat approval for NEW BRIGHTON EXCHANGE 1 sT <br /> ADDITION (formerly NORTHWEST QUADRANT EAST), creating Outlots A — D and dedication of <br /> right-of-way to be called Northwest Parkway. The final plat was renamed this month to correspond to <br /> the Council's adoption of New Brighton Exchange for the Northwest Quadrant. Final plat approval is <br /> the final step in eliminating the previous 13 legal descriptions and creating four new legal lots of record. <br /> The Planning Commission considered the Preliminary Plat in February, with the City Council adopting <br /> Resolution 11-029 on February 22, 2011. Since then the County Surveyor has approved the plat for <br /> recording. <br /> The final plat as prepared is consistent with the previous preliminary plat drawings approved in <br /> February of this year. It should also be noted that two small easements must be vacated in conjunction <br /> with recording this plat.
