June 13, 2011 <br />Public Hearing <br />None <br />Council Business <br />1. Consideration of approval to demolish 901 I1 th Avenue NW and 150 1" Ave SE <br />(Vermont Park Shelter.) Report No. I1-168. (Moved from Consent Agenda). <br />Councilmember Bauman reported she requested the item be moved to Council Business to <br />provide an opportunity to vote, as she voted against the item at an earlier meeting. <br />Councilmember Phillips requested the Council direct the PREC commission to review the <br />policy, prior to demolishing the park shelter at Vermont Park. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Samuelson to <br />demolish the house at 901 llth Ave NW. <br />3 Ayes, 1 Nay -Motion Carried. <br />Ayes: Mayor Jacobsen, Councilmembers Phillips and Samuelson <br />Nays; Councilmember Bauman <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Samuelson to direct <br />the Parks, Recreation & Environmental Commission to review the Vermont Park <br />Shelter, and the policy regarding the use of the Park Shelter, and report back to the <br />' council following their next meeting. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported a groundbreaking for the library was held June 7, 2011. The <br />County will focus on a smaller more technological structure in their future libraries. An <br />October opening is planned. Mr. Lotter reported he has submitted a grant through the Rotary <br />for Interactive Art, the rotary sub -committee has approved the request, so an additional grant <br />application will be submitted. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Planning Commission next meets June 21st <br />Councilmember Bauman announced there were eleven NSCC scholarship recipients. <br />Mary Burg <br />Absent <br />David Phillips <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the PREC commission considered the Storm Water <br />Management Plan update. Additionally it was reported the View Apartments will have a <br />groundbreaking on June 28th. It was reported that along with Mayor Jacobsen, councilmember <br />Phillips is on the Fundraising Committee for the Friends of the Library. <br />�3of4 <br />/.
