Jacobson,Director of Public Safety <br /> CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br /> No comments to supplement this reportS.ZC5- Comments attached <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Enter into agreement with Minnesota Institute of Public Health(MIPH) for Alcohol Compliance <br /> Checks. <br /> Legislative History: <br /> Federal funds for this grant contract are provided under the U.S. Department of Justice's <br /> Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws Program. <br /> Financial Impact: <br /> The Minnesota Institute of Public Health (MIPH) awarded a total of$1,080.00 to the City of <br /> New Brighton Department of Public Safety for this program. <br /> Explanation: <br /> Twice annually, a police officer will conduct alcohol compliance checks of all licensed liquor <br /> establishments in the City of New Brighton. The grant will offset some of the costs associated <br /> with this process and also require reporting of the outcomes to the Minnesota Institute of Public <br /> Health (MIPH). <br /> Costs and Funding: <br /> The City of New Brighton will receive $30 per alcohol compliance check of licensed liquor <br /> establishments twice during the one-year grant period. <br /> Anthony .
