Director of Community Development Grant Fernelius and City Planner Janice
Gundlach gave the history and policy issues for billboards and the non-conforming uses.
With the understanding that Council may want to re-visit the City's billboard regulations,
especially with regard to digital-style billboards, staff hopes to receive clarification and
direction from Council regarding "billboards".
After much discussion, Council directed staff to obtain contracts, ordinances and
financial (revenue) information from other cities. This information will assist the City
Council with making a decision regarding digital-style billboards.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 PM.
1
