Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chair Frischman. <br /> III. Roll Call <br /> Members Present: Commissioners Fields, Frischman, Kunesh-Podein, Jacobsen, <br /> Lundberg, Nguyen, Trevorrow, Weber, Council Liaison David Phillips and Director of <br /> Parks and Recreation Sandy Breuer. <br /> Members Absent: Commissioner Parker <br /> IV. Minutes of August 3, 2011 <br /> MOTION BY WEBER, SECONDED BY FIELDS, TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 3, <br /> 2011 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> V. Old Business <br /> None <br /> VI. New Business <br /> A. Oversee a Park <br /> Commission members discussed choosing a park to monitor on a regular basis. <br /> • Ownership of a park, "police-up" pick-up, be in neighborhood <br /> • The park you live by—familiar with it—hear from neighbors <br /> • Set up report time on the agenda each month under"Announcements" <br /> Chair Frischman paused the discussion to thank Tim & Shelley Larson; owners of <br /> the Dairy Queen on Old Highway 8, who arrived to deliver the catered meal. <br /> Chair Frischman thanked them for their contributions and good partnership with <br /> the City. The DQ holds 10% sales days, once a month, to support the Parks and <br /> Recreation scholarship fund. <br /> Commissioners chose, or were assigned, the following parks: <br /> Commissioner Kunesh-Podein—Silver Oaks/Totem <br /> Commissioner Lundberg—Driftwood <br /> Commissioner Weber—Veterans <br /> Commissioner Fields—Hidden Oaks/Hansen <br />
