10 city of Report Number 11-286 <br /> 1%NEW Agenda Section VI-2 <br /> wl3RIGHIUN Council Meeting Date October 25, 2011 <br /> the city that works for you <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Acceptance of a Donation From All Points Media <br /> DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: Sandy Breuer, Dire for of rks and Recreation <br /> CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br /> No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Waive the reading and accept the donation from All Points Media of$1,000. <br /> Legislative History: <br /> On April 12, 2011, Council approved a donation from Supervalu of approximately $600 to <br /> sponsor New Brighton Parks and Recreation's T-ball, Youth Softball, Coaches Pitch programs, <br /> etc. With this sponsorship, came the donation of t-shirts, hats, banners, etc. advertising Cub <br /> Foods. <br /> Financial Impact: <br /> The $1,000 donation will be realized in the Recreation Program Budget. <br /> Explanation: <br /> In a nationwide campaign to work with local teams and organizations, Supervalu sponsored <br /> youth baseball to select cities during the spring of 2011, to demonstrate strong community <br /> presence, as well as support local youth programs in each city. <br /> New Brighton Parks and Recreation was selected by All Points Media; a marketing firm <br /> representing Supervalu (Cub Foods) to sponsor New Brighton Parks and Recreation's T-ball, <br /> Youth Softball, Coaches Pitch programs, etc. With this sponsorship, came the donation of t- <br /> shirts,hats, banners, etc. advertising Cub Foods. <br /> At the end of the season, All Points Media, made a monetary donation of $1,000 to the New <br /> Brighton Parks and Recreation Department. <br /> Costs and Funding: <br /> None <br /> Jerson T.
