September 27, <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported that the Mayor attended the Planning Commission in her <br />'absence; as she was attending a NATOA conference. She reported Comcast is the largest <br />communication provider currently, and contracts are being negotiated. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported that she attended the Public Safety Commission meeting. <br />"No Parking" requested were considered. It was reported that the Northwest Youth & <br />Family Services will have its annual fundraiser on Thursday, September 29`h. The New <br />Brighton Historical will be hosting a "Harvest Dinner"; recognizing those over 80 years old. <br />Eight members of the Public Safety Department will participate in the Twin Cities Marathon <br />on October 2nd. Councilmember Burg attended the 65`h Anniversary celebration of the New <br />Brighton Police Department. The Public Safety Commission has decided to continue <br />meeting on the 4`h Monday of each month, with the exception of October; that meeting will <br />be Monday, October 24 th <br />. <br />David Phillips <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the next Parks, Recreation & Environmental Commission <br />meeting will be Wednesday, October 5`h. The commission will focus on prioritizing the <br />needs for infrastructure in the �ublic parks, as well as the park structures. The library is <br />scheduled to open October 29` . Friends of the Ramsey County Library continue to fundraise <br />towards their 5100,000 goal, it was noted that over $50,000 has already been raised. <br />Char Samuelson <br />'Councilmember Samuelson reported that the EDC met September 19`h. The EDC reviewed <br />the View Apartment project, and looked at marketing strategies as well. The EDC will look <br />at landscape standards at the request of the Planning Commission. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported that a proclamation will be forthcoming proclaiming the City's <br />support of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon organization. Mayor Jacobsen reported the <br />Planning Commission tabled a request requesting a zoning code amendment related to <br />manual changeable copy signs.
