Moved from the Consent Agenda. <br />City Manager Lotter explained that the current pedestrian bridge which connects the <br />overflow parking lot to the Community Center is seventeen years old and is in need of repair <br />or replacement. At the previous worksession Council decided to go with the repair option. <br />Because a repair was selected instead of a replacement, council approval is not necessary, <br />and direction was given to Mr. Lotter to proceed with the repair as needed. <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported good attendance at the recent Fire Department open house. <br />The Department of Labor and Industry will be interviewing a few city employees on October <br />26, 2011 regarding an on-going HR issue. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported she was unable to attend the recent Planning Commission <br />meeting. <br />Mary Bure <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Public Safety Commission met just prior to the Fire <br />Department open house on October 24th. The Public Safety Department received the <br />International Association of Chief s of Police (IACP) Community Policing Award; Director <br />Jacobson, along with Deputy Directors Olson and Paetznick traveled to Chicago to receive <br />the award. Officer Trevor Hamdorf talked to the Public Safety Commission regarding the <br />various provisional licenses within the City. It was reported that a CERT grant was received <br />to be used towards refresher courses. It was announced that the Community Partners with <br />Youth annual fundraiser will be Friday October 28 1h. <br />David Phillips <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the Library Grand Opening will be Saturday, October 29th <br />10:00 am -5:00 pm. The PREC commission next meets Wednesday November tat. <br />Councilmember Phillips reported that four items from the recent planning commission <br />meeting were presented at tonight's council meeting; one of which was tabled. It was <br />announced that the next regular Council Meeting will be Monday, November 7, due to the <br />November 8th election. <br />Char Samuelson <br />Councilmember Samuelson gave an update on the recent EDC meeting; including the View <br />Apartments., the Ashland agreement, Marketing activities and selection criteria. <br />The next EDC meeting will be November 15th at 7:30 am. <br />5.
