What <br /> he is hearing is we didn't get a good feeling for if this program works, so <br /> doing something similar to last time seems like the way to go, and maybe <br /> expanding it to a couple more areas. <br /> Frischman asked Weber for clarification that he is in favor of the <br /> recommendation that includes the two items, plus a third item that <br /> encourages the egg addling program at Lakeside and Forestdale Pond. <br /> Fields stated that if there are two big problem areas and we have already <br /> started conversations with those two entities, that this may be a good test <br /> to see how it is going to work with private property owners. <br /> Frischman asked if anyone felt they were missing any information? <br /> Something else we should be considering? <br /> Council Member Phillips stated he was confused about adding& <br /> coordinating two private properties. Someone has to be responsible for <br /> getting the releases and contacting all of the owners. You have greatly <br /> changed your difficulty when you add private properties there. Once you <br /> put the City on private property, you have different issues than when you <br /> have the City on City property. <br /> Lisa Taft stated she prefers not to have the City on private property at all, <br /> spending tax payer dollars for roundup on private property. <br /> John Taft said that if the homeowner is not going to take initiative to <br /> prevent a problem, then the City shouldn't be solving their problem. <br /> Lisa Taft stated that last year a Council member recommended that we not <br /> do the roundup on private property, but the Council rejected that part of <br /> the recommendation. <br /> Council Member Phillips stated we were not ready to change our practice <br /> in one year with no test. <br /> Frischman stated that as a member of this Commission, she felt it was <br /> important to look at all options and make a recommendation to Council so <br /> that we are doing things in the right philosophy of the New Brighton <br /> Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission. As those issues or <br /> problems arise, then we try to tackle those. She would like to at least <br /> 3 <br />
