throw it out there that maybe we do have three points to the
recommendation with the idea that this is an ongoing topic that we are
willing to find ways to improve upon.
Council Member Phillips stated that he is concerned that the discussion
has turned to private property.
Lisa Taft stated that they asked the City to stop doing removal on private
property.
Fields said his understanding about the private property, is not the City
managing it, but the City assisting the volunteers who are willing to go
there and manage it. Why are we
doing the addling if those people are not being diligent in controlling the
geese, why would we even spend volunteer hours, when those are hours
that could benefit the City as a whole; unless it is benefitting the parks
near these areas?
Weber stated what he is perceiving, is that a lot of those nests are on
private property, but the geese also wander onto City property, into our
parks.
