Jacobson, Director of Public Safety <br /> CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br /> No comments to supplement this repor Comments attached _ <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Approve the Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management 2008 <br /> Citizen Corps Grant Agreement to be executed in 2012. <br /> Legislative History: <br /> N/A <br /> Financial Impact: <br /> Grant funds in the amount of 3,275.00 will be utilized to reimburse the costs associated with <br /> purchasing credentialing technology as well as a canopy to allow for all weather operations. <br /> There are no matching costs required of the City. <br /> Explanation: <br /> The New Brighton Department of Public Safety successfully submitted a grant application to the <br /> Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to allow us to obtain <br /> credentialing technology and enhance our Citizen Corps operating ability. The equipment will <br /> be utilized to verify individuals are authorized to operate within a disaster area or other restricted <br /> area increasing the ability of our agency to maintain the integrity of a scene.
