Commissioner Howard has served as chair <br /> since that time. <br /> Financial Impact: None <br /> Explanation: Commissioner Bruce Howard was first appointed chair of the Planning Commission by <br /> the City Council on March 23, 2010 as part of the regular, yearly commission appointments. In <br /> conjunction with this chair appointment Commissioner Howard was also re-appointed to serve an <br /> additional three year term on the Planning Commission, which would expire on March 31, 2013. The <br /> Planning Commission has again nominated Commissioner Howard to serve as chair for 2012. City <br /> Code Sec. 2-64 does not stipulate when chair appointments are made, however there is a requirement <br /> that the City Council confirm all nominations for advisory commission chairs and the appointments shall <br /> be for one year. The City Code stipulates that the Council may appoint any member of the Commission. <br /> The Planning Commission unanimously recommended Commissioner Howard to continue to serve as <br /> chairperson for 2012.
