gwo City of ',ABRIGHT ON the city that works for you Council Worksession January 10, 2012 Present: Mayor Dave Jacobsen Councilmember Char Samuelson Councilmember Gina Bauman Councilmember Mary Burg Absent: Councilmember Paul Jacobsen Staff in Attendance: City Manager Dean Lotter Others in Attendance: None The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM. Discussion related to the Appointments of Delegates and Alternates to various Public Agencies for the 2012 Calendar: During the work session, City Manager Dean Lotter provided the City Council with an overview of the EDA meeting. City Manager Dean Lotter stated that under the authority of the EDA, the City has issued debt in the past to pay for the construction of the New Brighton Community Center and Public Safety Center. The City is required by law to have an EDA meeting once each year to review the finances for the debt issuance. During the EDA meeting, the Mayor typically serves as the President and Treasurer of the EDA Commission. The City Manager typically serves in the role of secretary for the EDA meetings. After Council discussion, the following councilmembers are scheduled to be appointed to serve as City delegates for the following public agencies in 2012: • League of Minnesota Cities: Mayor Dave Jacobsen, alternate is Council Member Char Samuelson • Metro Cities: Mayor Dave Jacobsen, alternate is Council Member Mary Burg • Northwest Youth &Services: Council Member Char Samuelson • North Suburban Cable: Council Member Gina Bauman • EDA - Vice President: Council Member Paul Jacobson Selection of Acting Mayor: After Council discussion, Council Member Mary Burg will serve as the City's Acting Mayor if the Mayor is unable to attend any council meetings in 2012. Vikings Stadium Resolution: After much discussion, Mayor Dave Jacobsen and Council Members asked staff to draft a resolution for next meeting regarding the Council's position on the Viking Stadium.
