ORDINANCE NO. 811 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDMENT RELATED TO <br />COMMISSIONS <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS that <br />the New Brighton Code of Ordinance <br />is amending City Code Section 2-63, <br />2-67 and 2-69 as follows: <br />Section 2.63 Term Limits <br />(1) PIaRRiRg Commission members <br />will be allowed to serve four <br />consecutive terms or a maximum of <br />twelve years. <br />(4 <br />Will 198 8118W861 19 SSFY9 il*99, <br />mRe'YOM <br />(2) Once a commission member <br />has served on a commission for four <br />consecutive terms or a maximum of <br />reappoint mat commission me_ tuber <br />to additional terms. <br />(3) Effective April 1, 2010, the City <br />Council will begin enforcing the term <br />limits on current commission or <br />committee members who have <br />served feHgree-w four consecutive <br />terms. <br />(4) If a commission or committee <br />member is appointed by the City <br />Council to complete the term of an <br />individual that has resigned or been <br />removed by the City Council, the <br />time served by the commission or <br />committee member to complete the <br />remainder of an existing term will not <br />count towards the term limit <br />requirements set forth by the City. <br />(5) A commission or committee <br />member that has served the <br />maximum number of terms allowed <br />by the City is required to take a one <br />year break from serving on that <br />parlicu[ar commission ©icoiltrralffgg. <br />'The member may then apply for <br />reappointment to a different <br />commission or committee after their <br />tens limit has expired. (Ord 781, 7- <br />14-2009 Ord. 787, 2-09-2010) <br />Section 2-67 Reports <br />The chairperson of each <br />commission shall make a report to <br />the City Council once a year. The <br />report will be made at a regular <br />Council meeting and will include a <br />summary of issues and <br />accomplishments of the commission <br />during the past year. The City <br />Manager shall be responsible for <br />notifying the member of the intended <br />and resulting action.
