ORDINANCE NO. 811 STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT RELATED TO COMMISSIONS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS that the New Brighton Code of Ordinance is amending City Code Section 2-63, 2-67 and 2-69 as follows: Section 2.63 Term Limits (1) PIaRRiRg Commission members will be allowed to serve four consecutive terms or a maximum of twelve years. (3) Effective April 1, 2010, the City Council will begin enforcing the term limits on current commission or committee members who have served feHgree-w four consecutive terms. (4) If a commission or committee member is appointed by the City Council to complete the term of an individual that has resigned or been removed by the City Council, the time served by the commission or committee member to complete the remainder of an existing term will not count towards the term limit requirements set forth by the City. (5) A commission or committee member that has served the maximum number of terms allowed by the City is required to take a one year break from serving on that parlicu[ar commission ©icoiltrralffgg. 'The member may then apply for reappointment to a different commission or committee after their tens limit has expired. (Ord 781, 7- 14-2009 Ord. 787, 2-09-2010) Section 2-67 Reports The chairperson of each commission shall make a report to the City Council once a year. The report will be made at a regular Council meeting and will include a summary of issues and accomplishments of the commission during the past year. Also, the report shall preview future Issues and projects. If a member misses ORB Nrird four of the scheduled meetings during the commission or committee's calendar year (April through March), the member's seat ivift--aatew:af gail ma become vacated and the City Council w4l can begin the process of filling the vacated seat.
