NIA city of <br /> 44INEW <br /> H ON <br /> the city that works for you <br /> Council Worksession <br /> March 13, 2012 <br /> Present: Mayor Dave Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Gina Bauman <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff in Attendance: <br /> Assistant to the City Manager Schawn Johnson <br /> Director of Community Development Grant Fernelius <br /> City Planner Janice Gundlach <br /> Others in Attendance: <br /> Attorney Peter Mikhail, Kennedy & Graven <br /> The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM. <br /> Update on Status of Clearwire Legal Issue Regarding Tower in Freedom Park <br /> Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 13D, the meeting was closed to discuss attorney-client information regarding the <br /> legal matte involving the Clearwire Tower located in Freedom Park. <br /> A motion was made by Councilmember Char Samuelson and seconded by Councilmember Gina Bauman to <br /> move the meeting into a closed session. The motion was approved by the City Council 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Councilmember Mary Burg and seconded by Councilmember Gina Bauman to open the <br /> meeting at 6:25 pm. The motion was approved by the City Council 5-0. <br /> Review Applications and Select Advisory Commission Applicants to be Interview <br /> City Council asked City staff to review the possibility of eliminating the Civil Service Commission. City staff <br /> will report back to the City Council regarding this matter. <br /> City Council directed staff to send a letter to Commission Member James Alvey informing him that he will not <br /> be reappointed to serve on the Planning Commission. Mr. Alvey may serve on one of the other commissions if <br /> desired. <br /> City Council asked staff to schedule interviews with the four candidates at the March 27th work session meeting <br /> that have submitted applications to serve on the City's advisory commissions. <br /> Worksession adjourned at 6:30 pm. <br /> 1 <br />
