HEAD'S APPROVAL: <br /> MANAGER'S REVIEW/RECOMMENDATION: <br /> No comments to supplement this report Ir',(a�► -- Comments attached <br /> EXPLANATION/SUMMARY (attach supplemental sheets as necessary) <br /> The purpose of this item is to obtain Council approval of the payment for the granular activated carbon(GAC) <br /> change-out at Water Treatment Plant#1, located at 3001 5th Street NW. The purchase was made under an <br /> existing multi -year procurement contract with Calgon Carbon Corporation. <br /> The GAC change-out was done in January of 1997. The total cost for the change out of 159,900 pounds of GAC <br /> is $196,692.00. The total cost of the GAC change-out is paid for by the US Army from the 20 year Operation and <br /> giaintenance Fund. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> To approve payment in the amount of S196,692.00 to Calgon Carbon Corporation for the January 1997 <br /> GAC change-out at Water Treatment Plant#1. <br /> / .ter <br /> er P.E. !�Leslie J.
