HEAD'S APPROVAL:
MANAGER'S REVIEW/RECOMMENDATION:
No comments to supplement this report Comments attached
EXPLANATION:
In early 1997,the City of New Brighton was awarded a grant from the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission, through
the Mighty Ducks funding program. The grant received was for the purpose of assisting in the financing of the Four Sheet
SuperRink, currently under construction at the National Sports Center in Blaine. In order to facilitate efficient
administration of the multiple Mighty Ducks funding grants awarded for this project, the attached grant contract,
amendments, and supplements provide that the responsibility of these Mighty Duck Grants be transferred to the State of
Minnesota. Pursuant to the attached agreements, the City of New Brighton would no longer be responsible for any aspects
of the administration of the funds awarded under the"Mighty Duck"program. This responsibility would be handled
directly through the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission.
e City Attorney has reviewed the attached agreements and has found them to be satisfactory. Approval of these
greements is desirable from the City of New Brighton's perspective.
RECOMMENDATION:
MOTION TO APPROVE THE GRANT CONTRACT AMENDMENTS AND SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENTS
BETWEEN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA AND THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON TRANSFERING
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE NSC SUPERRINK MIGHTY DUCKS FUNDING GRANT TO THE STATE
MINNESOTA AMATUER SPORTS COMMISSION.
114416}1I‘l—
Ma ew S.
