k i <br /> it <br /> �f ! <br /> • RESOLUTION No. <br /> !I <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> it <br /> ;I <br /> RESOLUTION REVOKING NO TRUCK TRAFFIC IN EXCESS OF 10,000 POUNDS GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT <br /> ON 8TH AVENUE NW BETWEEN OLD HIGHWAY 8 AND 10TH STREET NW. <br /> WHEREAS, in about 1972 Ramsey County, at the request of the City of New Brighton, posted <br /> 8th Avenue NW between Old Highway 8 and 10th Street NW,No Truck Traffic in Excess of 10,000 <br /> Pounds Gross Vehicle Weight, because of complaints from residents about truck noise and a concern <br /> for safety of children at the New Brighton Elementary School, and <br /> WHEREAS, in 1978 Old Highway 8 was reconstructed making 8th Avenue a right angle <br /> { intersection at Old Highway 8 which discourages trucks from using 8th Avenue because it is <br /> physically difficulty for large trucks to negotiate the turns, and <br /> WHEREAS,the old New Brighton Elementary School located at the intersection of 8th Avenue <br /> , and 7th Street NW has been closed and sold thereby greatly reducing the number of elementary age <br /> children on 8th Avenue, and <br /> IL <br /> WHEREAS, Residents of adjacent streets have been unfairly burden with all of the truck traffic <br /> in the area as a result of the 8th Avenue No truck Traffic Posting, and <br /> • <br /> WHEREAS,Under Project 96-04, 8th Avenue NW between Old Highway 8 and 10th Street NW <br /> is proposed to be turned back to the City of New Brighton and reconstructed with new curb and <br /> gutter, bituminous surfacing and a concrete sidewalk for pedestrian safety, <br /> Now THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of New Brighton that the No <br /> Truck Traffic in Excess of 10,000 Pounds Gross vehicle Weight, on 8th Avenue NW between Old <br /> ,!
