HEAD'S APPROVAL: Kevin Locke,Director of Community Development <br /> MANAGER'S REVIEW/RECOMMENDATION: <br /> No comments to supplement this report &40----� Comments attached <br /> EXPLANATION/SUMMARY (attach supplemental sheets as necessary) <br /> Curtis Bostrum,the owner of the apartment building at 808- 6th Avenue NW,has proposed to make a series of <br /> improvements to his property. The property is part of the CBD West TIF District#18.This district includes the Rottlund <br /> Townhomes,New Brighton Care Center, and the public improvements for these projects including the closing of 6th Ave <br /> NW north of the New Brighton Care Center. The proposed improvements include landscaping, parking lot improvements <br /> and construction of a garage. The plans for the improvement have gone through the zoning approval process and have <br /> been approved. The cost of the improvements will be $40,000. <br /> In order to make it possible for Curtis Bostrum to proceed with his proposed improvements,Mr. Bostrum is seeking <br /> o5,000 in TIF assistance. To provide the needed assistance a redevelopment contract committing Mr. Bostrum to the <br /> npleting the improvements and committing the City to provide the proposed assistance upon completion of the <br /> improvements is needed. City Council authorization to prepare a redevelopment agreement for this project is being sought <br /> at this time. The proposed project has been reviewed with Jim Casserly the City's economic developmentlTlF consultant. <br /> The proposed project would further the upgrading of the old downtown area.
