HEAD'S APPROVAL: <br /> MANAGER'S REVIEW/RECOMMENDATION: <br /> No comments to supplement this report 4 Comments attached <br /> John L. Moore and Laura J. Subak, d.b.a. Barley John's Inc., are applying for an on-sale Wine licence and a non- <br /> intoxicating malt liquor license at 781 Old Highway 8, the former Mei Wei site. They plan to sell wine and strong <br /> beer brewed on the premisses. City Code provides that a person who holds a wine license and a non-intoxicating <br /> malt liquor license may sell intoxicating malt liquor without an additional license if 60% of gross receipts are <br /> attributable to the sale of food. The license will include Sunday sales and exterior public area(patio). The name <br /> of the establishment will be Barley John's Brewpub. <br /> The Police Department conducted a background investigation and discovered no reason to deny the licenses. The <br /> required public hearing has been held. <br /> Council has held the readings of the required ordinance changes to permit this type of opperation within the City. <br /> •ll fees have been paid and required proofs of insurance provided. <br /> Recommendation: To issue an On-Sale Wine and a Non-Intoxicating Malt Liquor License to John L. Moore and <br /> Laura Subak, d.b.a. Barley John's Brewpub valid to December 31, 1998, for the wine license and March 31, 1999 <br /> for the Non-intoxicating Malt liquor license; provided that they obtain the appropriate State license. <br /> John C.
