Twin Cities Gateway—Presentation by Steve Markuson 1. Twin Cities Gateway— <br /> Presentation by Steve <br /> Steve Markuson;Executive Director of Twin Cities Gateway reported that tourism in Minnesota generates moo" <br /> about$33,000,000 a day;employing 235,000 residents. Ramsey County is responsible for about 10%of the <br /> states overall tourism economy. Mr.Markuson reported that Twin City Gateway stared in January 2010, <br /> noting New Brighton joined mid year 2010. It was reported that the Board of Directors is comprised of <br /> members from each of the nine member cities. New Brighton will be getting an additional board seat,due to <br /> the lodging taxes generated in 2011. This representative will be from the Hilton Homewood Suites Hotel. <br /> Mr.Markuson reported that the site includes items such as advertising for lodging,banquet/meeting facilities, <br /> and special events promotion. <br /> 2. Recognition of Parks,Recreation&Environmental Commissioner Tom Trevorrow. 2. Recognition ofParks, <br /> Recreation& <br /> Director of Parks&Recreation Sandy Breuer introduced Tom Trevorrow,who has served on the Parks, Environmental <br /> Commissioner Tom <br /> Recreation&Environmental commission since 1992. It was reported that Mr.Trevorrow was instrumental Trevorrow <br /> in establishing soccer fields throughout the City;as well as being involved in annual Arbor Day events and <br /> tree sales. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen presented a plaque of appreciation to Commissioner Trevorrow. Mr.Trevonow expressed <br /> his gratitude to the City and suggested that the City consider investing in a Forester in order to preserve the <br /> City's vision. <br /> 3.Ellen Stanslaski <br /> Proclamation. <br /> 3. Some of the <br /> 2011 accomplishments included: <br /> • Replacing the fiber connection between City Hall and the Community Center. <br /> • Class Software upgrade(NBCC)By performing this in-house;a substantial savings was obtained. <br /> • Network was operational 99.33%. <br /> • Installation of security cameras at City Hall. <br />
