The grant <br /> requires a minimum 20 percent local match. The breakdown is as follows: <br /> Replace fluoride pumps,hose&foot valves at Water Treatment Plant 1 $1,520 <br /> Required City Match(20%) $380 <br /> Total $1,900 <br /> Explanation: The goal of the Minnesota Community Fluoridation Grant is to increase the number of <br /> Minnesotans receiving the oral health benefits of optimally fluoridated drinking water. This goal may be <br /> achieved by helping a community public water supply optimize their fluoridation process. The Minnesota <br /> Department of Health Drinking Water Protection Section will administer federal grant funds to reimburse eligible <br /> public water systems for costs involved in implementing drinking water fluoridation. <br /> The City of New Brighton currently fluoridates our drinking water as required for all public water suppliers as set <br /> forth by the Safe Drinking Water Act(SDWA).
