June 12,2012 Page 4 of 5 <br /> Commission Liaison Reports,Announcements and Updates Remmission Liaison <br /> Reportsz <br /> Announcements and <br /> Dean Lotter Updates <br /> City Manager Lotter reported the Granite Falls tour was rescheduled to Thursday, June 28th <br /> from 1:30-3:00 p.m. At the June 26th worksession the Council would be meeting with Pulte <br /> Homes. He commented the Council would be taking a formal Council photo at the June 26th <br /> meeting as well. <br /> Gina Bauman <br /> Councilmember Bauman commented the Planning Commission had Pulte Homes attend its <br /> most recent meeting. She was unable to attend but looked forward to the presentation being <br /> made to Council on June 26th. <br /> Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Burg reported she attended the recent North Suburban Cable Commission <br /> meeting as a liaison. She explained that three students from New Brighton received <br /> scholarships. She was proud of their accomplishments and encouraged those interested in <br /> television production to seek internships with the local cable network. Councilmember Burg <br /> noted she also attended the recent Park and Recreation Commission meeting. The storm water <br /> review was discussed. She attended the Ramsey County Active Communities meeting <br /> yesterday and was pleased with the group's mission. It was noted the EDC would be meeting <br /> on June 19th at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall in the conference room. <br /> Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Samuelson reported Grandma's Marathon was taking place this weekend and <br /> three of the City's public safety members would be running the race. She noted the Public <br /> Safety Commission would meet again on Monday, June 26th at the Public Safety Center to <br /> discuss a recent traffic study and the City's parking ordinances. It was noted members of <br /> public safety would also be participating in the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit <br /> Special Olympics. New Brighton runners would be taking the torch on Friday, June 22nd from <br /> the Mounds View public safety team. She noted the Fire Depai tiilent was holding its "Fill the <br /> Boot" campaign from June 19th through June 21st for Muscular Dystrophy. <br /> Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen thanked the VFW for hosting the recent Memorial Day festivities <br /> and for all those in the community that were able to attend. He also thanked the residents for <br /> sending in their comments and concerns to the Council. He commented there were three <br /> openings on the Park and Recreation Commission at this time. Those interested could contact <br /> City Hall or view the City's website for further information. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen <br /> Mayor Jacobsen reported there has been a large number of letters and communications from <br /> the public. He thanked the public for their comments noting the Council would continue to <br /> work to resolve their concerns. <br />
