Update—Council work session on 5/8/12 Breuer stated connectivity priorities will be discussed at the Council Work Session on May 8, 2012 starting at 5:15 p.m. The encroachment issue will also be discussed on May 8, 2012 at 5:45 p.m. PREC members are invited to attend. Breuer stated she has a presentation prepared that she will be sharing with the Council She will be asking Council for direction. Do they want to proceed with the encroachment issue, and if so, how do they want to proceed. If we proceed,we would like to complete a survey of each park. Council would need to authorize the funding of this survey. IX. Announcements A. Council Report—Council Member Jacobsen • Term limits were discussed. There was a compromise that was reached. There will be four 3-year terms. If a member misses four of the scheduled meetings during the commission or committee's calendar year(April through March), the member's seat may become vacated. • Also approved the letting of bids for the pathway from the Community Center to Highway 96. • He attended an I-35W corridor meeting last week with MNDOT. In their presentation they have re-decking for Hwy. 96 bridge, rather than replacement of it. That would impact any thoughts we have of trails across that bridge. Grant Wyffels will be getting more clarification on that item. There was no replacement of the E2, County Road F or Hwy. 96 bridges until 2016. • Still have two seats open on this Commission. 2
