No., City of <br /> 'ANEW13RIGHTON <br /> the city that works for you <br /> Council Worksession <br /> June 5, 2012 <br /> Present: Mayor Dave Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Gina Bauman <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff in Attendance: City Manager Dean Lotter <br /> Others in Attendance: None <br /> Discussion of City Manager's Goals for 2012 and Performance Review: <br /> The meeting was called to order at 5:45 PM. - Council conducted a performance review for City Manager <br /> Dean Lotter for 2011 and portions of 2012. <br /> 2012 Stockyard Days: <br /> City Manager Dean Lotter stated that Stockyard Days is purchasing shirts for this year's City event. City <br /> Manager Lotter asked if Council would be interested in financially contributing towards purchasing the event <br /> shirts to include a City of New Brighton 125th year celebration logo placed on the sleeve of the shirt. Council <br /> agreed that the City of New Brighton should contribute towards the purchasing of Stockyard Day shirts. City <br /> Manager Lotter stated that he will follow up with the Stock and Days committee. <br /> Discussion Related to Commissioner Member Expectations <br /> Council was given documents regarding Commissioner Member Expectations. Council had heard that <br /> Commissioner Becky Cole was not conducting according to Council's expectation and therefore will be asked <br /> to resign her position from the Economic Development Commission. <br /> Councilmember Gina Bauman stated that perhaps Council should consider dismissing the Human Rights <br /> Commission; as this commission does not have any active topics. Council Member Bauman stated that the <br /> HRC has created a diversity question where there really is nothing there. Council Member Bauman also stated <br /> that this particular commission is not a requirement for New Brighton. City Manager Lotter stated that he will <br /> look into this matter and will inform Council. <br /> Tour of Granite Falls & Grand Opening of The View: <br /> City Manager Lotter stated that he would like to talk to the management at Granite Falls (previously known as <br /> Timber Crest & Silver Lake Flats) about scheduling different tour times for the City Councilmember to <br /> accommodate Councilmember's their varying schedules. <br /> Mayor Dave Jacobsen stated that the View's grand opening and ribbon opening is July 10th at 10:00 am. <br /> Councilmembers asked Mayor Jacobsen to email them the information of the grand opening for the new <br /> apartment complex. <br /> The worksession was adjourned at 8:30 pm. <br /> 1 <br />
