August 15,2012 Page 6 of 6 <br /> Commission Liaison Reports,Announcements and Updates Remmission Liaison <br /> Reportsz <br /> Announcements and <br /> Dean Lotter Updates <br /> City Manager Lotter reminded the Council there would be a budget meeting on Wednesday, <br /> August 22, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. He indicated he would forward preliminary information to the <br /> Council on Friday. <br /> Gina Bauman <br /> Councilmember Bauman noted the Cable Commission met recently and contract discussions <br /> continued. She explained the contract was being reviewed in conjunction with neighboring <br /> communities. <br /> Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Burg reported there would be an Economic Development Commission <br /> meeting next Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. She noted the last meeting was canceled <br /> for lack of agenda items. <br /> Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Samuelson indicated National Night Out was well attended this year. She <br /> noted there was between 140-150 parties in the City of New Brighton. She discussed <br /> Stockyard Days. <br /> Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen thanked all those who planned and participated in National Night <br /> Out this year. It was a great success in the City. He sent a special thanks to all those involved <br /> in Stockyard Days as well. He explained the Park and Recreation Commission met and <br /> discussed a proposal from MnDOT regarding the I-694/I-35 corridors. He encouraged the <br /> residents to review the recent City newsletter, as there was a great deal of information on <br /> upcoming City activities. He then reviewed recent volunteer activity in the community. It was <br /> noted that there were three openings on the Park and Recreation Commission at this time. <br /> Those interested in a position could contact City Hall for additional information. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen <br /> Mayor Jacobsen reported National Night Out was a huge success this year. He thanked the <br /> police and fire department for their involvement.
