September 11,2012 Page 6 of 6 <br /> Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Samuelson reported National Night Out was well attended this year. She read <br /> a letter from the Ralph Reader Food Shelf thanking the City for the donations collected on <br /> National Night Out. She noted the Public Safety Commission would meet again on September <br /> 24th at 6:30 p.m. at the public safety building. She announced the Taste Northwest fundraiser <br /> would take place on September 27th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets were $30 for the event. <br /> Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen reported that Park and Recreation Commission would meet next on <br /> October 3, 2012. He then requested further information from staff regarding an award received <br /> by the City from CPY. <br /> City Manager Lotter explained the City was selected as the CPY Community Award Winner. <br /> CPY was recognizing the partnership between the City, its residents and CPY. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen <br /> Mayor Jacobsen reported he received a request for the Grand Opening of TCF. He commented <br /> he would forward the date to staff. He questioned if any Councilmembers were available to <br /> attend the CPY event on October 6th. The event would take place at the New Brighton <br /> Community Center. The entire Council was able to attend. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen noted he met with Meg Robinson with the local library. The One Book One <br /> Community initiative would take place again this winter. He requested information regarding <br /> this program be posted on the City's website. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen requested further information about paperless packets. City Manager Lotter <br /> discussed the matter in further detail noting tablets would have to be purchased.
