Division 5-Police Civil Service Commission <br /> Sec. 2-140. Purpose. <br /> (1)A Police Civil Service Commission will be appointed to assume the duties and responsibilities of a <br /> police civil service commission as created by uncodified Ordinance No. 402,pursuant to the terms and <br /> provisions of Minnesota Laws 1929, Ch 299 (Minnesota Statutes, Chapters 419 et seq., as amended). <br /> (2)The Commission shall consist of three members. <br /> (3)At least one member of the Police Civil Service Commission shall also be a member of the Public <br /> Safety Commission. <br /> (4)The duties of the Commission shall include control and supervision over the employment,promotion, <br /> discharge, and suspension of all officers. (Ord.No. 626,2-11-97; Code of 2001) <br /> Sec.2-141. Chairperson. <br /> The chairperson of the Police Service Commission shall be a member in their third year of Service on <br /> the Commission.
