I am enclosing an Advisory Commission Application as well as a copy of my current resume and addendum. I would very much like to participate on any of the five commissions. On the application form, I ranked my commission preferences from 1 to 5. The reason that I would like to participate is that I would like to become more involved in my community, and I see this opportunity as a way of doing that. I live with my family— a wife, newborn daughter, and two Pekingese dogs --about a block from Hansen Park. We walk in the park almost every day—regardless of the weather. W-ien we moved into the neighborhood in 2000, I don't think we were even aware that we lived that close to such a large and excellent park. We have come to appreciate all the wildlife that live there ducks, geese, cranes, squirrels, foxes, raccoons, numerous species of birds, a nesting pair of great horned owls, and a family of white-tailed deer. Spending time there is one of the delights of our day. Because of this, I ranked the Park, Recreation & Environmental Commission first. But I would be pleased to serve on any commission that had an opening. I work as a practicing attorney, involved in civil litigation, with the Minneapolis law firm of Lindquist & Vennum ..L.P. I think that my experience as an attorney and businessperson would help me be a contributing member of any commission I was appointed to. DOCS-063932 7-v
