<br />. <br />1 ! <br /> <br />I <br />........ <br />',- - <br /> <br />l <br /> <br />"'" <br />j . <br /> <br />~' <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 00=036 <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A COMMITMENT BY THE CITY TO ADOPT AND POTENTIALLY ADMINISTER <br />AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY'S ZONING ORDINANCE TO ADDRESS THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL'S <br />INTERIM STRATEGY TO REDUCE NONPOINT POLLUTION TO ALL METROPOLITAN WATER BODIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton Comprehensive Plan Amendment request was approved by <br />, the New Brighton City Council on December] 4, ] 999, subject to review and approval of the <br />. Metropolitan Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 14, ]999, the City Council approved the City's surface water <br />'. management plan, which has also been reviewed and approved by the Rice Creek Watershed District; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton request for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment was received <br />: by the Metropolitan Council on December 29, 1999; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the letter dated January] 0, 200, the Metropolitan Council informed the City that the <br />New Brighton Surface Water Management Plan contains adequate policy language to confirm that the <br />Met Council's INTERIM STRATEGY TO REDUCE NONPOINT POLLUTION TO ALL METROPOLITAN WATER <br />BODIES is being followed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City does not have specific land use controls to implement the above mentioned <br />STRATEGY criteria, therefore, found that the application for a Comprehensive Plan amendment is <br />incomplete; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton has traditionally required permits from the Rice Creek <br />Watershed District to ensure compliance of the Interim Strategy to Reduce Nonpoint Pollution to all <br />Metropolitan Water Bodies; and <br /> <br />Now THEREFORE BE IT REsOLVED, that the City of New Brighton will work with the Rice Creek <br />Watershed District and prepare and adopt a specific amendment to the New Brighton City Code to <br />implement the City's Surface Water Management Plan and the Interim Strategy to Reduce Nonpoint <br />Pollution to all Metropolitan Water Bodies. <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />Steve Larson, Mayor <br /> <br />Adopted this 25th day of April, 2000. <br /> <br />...... ......,.-.. ~ '- - <br /> <br />~~. <br /> <br />Ma hew Fulton, City Manager <br /> <br />"0.: A1')ESf: <br /> <br />'; <br /> <br /> <br />, ! <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />1:ISHAREDlCOUNCILIRQsolutions\2000lcd\surfwaler, wpd <br />
