Announcements and <br /> Updates <br /> Gina Bauman <br /> Councilmember Bauman stated the Planning Commission did not meet in December. She <br /> noted the Cable Commission did meet. She reviewed the items discussed in detail with the <br /> Council and noted the items covered in 2012 by QCTV. She noted the cable contract was still <br /> being negotiated. <br /> Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Burg reported there was no EDC meeting in December. She indicated the <br /> group would meet again on Tuesday, January 15th at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall. She thanked <br /> Public Safety for increasing their presence at the local schools. <br /> Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Samuelson reported Detective Gary Sykes would be retiring from the Public <br /> Safety Department and has served the community for the past 33 t/2 years. He would be <br /> recognized publicly at an upcoming Council Meeting. She stated Firefighter John Finney <br /> would be retiring after 10 years of service to New Brighton. She indicated the Public Safety <br /> Commission would be meeting again on Monday, January 28th at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Safety <br /> building. <br /> Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen reported that the Park and Rec met on January 2nd. He noted the <br /> items discussed. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen <br /> Mayor Jacobsen reported he thoroughly enjoyed the holiday season.
