Economic <br />Development <br />Commission Annual <br />Paul Zisla, Chair of the Economic Development Commission, discussed the role of the EDC and noted the <br />Report <br />group met seven times in 2012. He indicated significant policy issues were discussed at these meetings with <br />an emphasis on The Exchange. The group worked with Staff on development criteria while also creating a <br />tool for evaluating futiu a development proposals. Mr. Zisla commented the EDC reviewed and analyzed <br />development proposals from Pulte Homes and API. <br />Mayor Jacobsen thanked Mr. Zisla's for his continued years of service to the community. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen also thanked Mr. Zisla and the entire EDC for their work on behalf of the City. <br />Councilmember Bauman commented the EDC was growing and she appreciated the leadership Mr. Zisla <br />and Staffprovided to this group. <br />Councilmember Burg also thanked Mr. Zisla for sharing his expertise with the City and for his leadership on <br />the EDC. <br />6. Northwest Youth <br />6. Northwest Youth and Family Services Annual Report <br />and Family Services <br />Annual Report <br />Jerry Hromatka, Northwest Youth and Family Services, offered the Council a summary of services provided <br />by his organization to the City of New Brighton. He explained his focus was on 5 -21 year olds and noted <br />4,500 youth, families and individuals were served on a yearly basis. He discussed the three main program <br />areas were mental health services, youth development and day treatment programs. Mr. Hromatka reviewed <br />the highlights from 2012. He thanked the Council for their continued support and looked forward to 2013. <br />Councilmember Burg asked if Mr. Hromatka had an important event planned in February. Mr. Hromatka <br />explained the Service to Youth Awards would be held in February with the school districts to recognize <br />volunteers.
