February 12, 2013 Page 2 of 5 Commission Minutes Commission Minutes Mayor Jacobsen received the following minutes on behalf of the City: • Public Safety Commission minutes from November 26, 2012. Special Order of Business Special Order of 1. Swearing on of Police Officer Adam Nelson. Business 1. Swearing in ofPolice Public Safety Director Jacobson introduced the Council to newly hired Police Officer Adam Nelson. Officer Adam Nelson. Director of Finance Maies administered the Oath of Office to Officer Nelson. Those present offered a round of applause. 2. Acceptance of the 2012 National Night Out Second Place Award. Report No. 13 -027. 2- Acoeptance of the 2012 National Night Out Second Public Safety Director Jacobson explained the City was awarded the Second Place Award for the 2012 13 `` No. National Night Out. He had a great deal of pride in the City for this accomplishment. Deputy Fire Chief Trevor Handorf indicated the City received the Second Place Award from the National Association of Town Watch on behalf of the residents of the City of New Brighton. He noted the City came in first in Minnesota. A plaque was presented to the Mayor and City Council. A round of applause was offered by those present. Mayor Jacobsen read a letter in full from Scott Rodamacher, the owner of The Liquor Barrel. He extended a great deal of thanks to the Police and Fire Department for their actions at a recent event at The Liquor Barrel.
