March 12, 2013 Page 3 of 4 <br />Councilmember Samuelson thanked All Points Media for their generous donation of $1,700 to the City's <br />summer sports team She appreciated their involvement in the community. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />Public Hearing <br />None. <br />Council Business <br />None. <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported a Town Hall Meeting would be held on April Oh from 8:00 a.m. <br />to 11:30 a.m. He requested the Council report back to him with comments on the agenda. He <br />stated on March 19th a Closed Session would be held regarding the pending litigation with the <br />United States Army with regard to the City's groundwater contamination at 5:30 p.m. He <br />noted he would be attending a conference by the League of Minnesota Cities on March 22nd <br />He thanked those who attended each of the neighborhood meetings in February. He was <br />pleased to report that the City would have a new website as of March 18`h. He encouraged all <br />residents to review the new site in the afternoon of the 18th. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman stated the Planning Commission did not meet in February. She <br />commented the Cable Commission met in February in closed session. She noted the little <br />black converter boxes would now cost $1.99 per month and would offer HD channels. She <br />commented there was some contention with PEG channels which was still in negotiations. She <br />then thanked all for attending the neighborhood meetings. She looked forward to the <br />upcoming Town Hall meeting. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported she attended the Park and Recreation meeting last week. She <br />toured the Brightenwood Hills Golf Course and the Community Center. It was noted the new <br />Subway kiosk would be open in the Community Center by June Is'. The group also discussed <br />the upcoming projects planned for the New Brighton Exchange property. She stated a public <br />hearing would be held on May 1st regarding this matter. She noted the Economic Development <br />Commission would be meeting on Tuesday, March 19`h at 7:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers. <br />Char Samuelson <br />Councilmember Samuelson reported the Public Safety Commission would be meeting on <br />March 25`h at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Building. <br />Acting Mayor Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked all who were able to attend the CPY Luncheon this <br />afternoon. He noted this was a well attended event at the Community Center. He then <br />discussed the numerous benefits of CPY to the youth in the community.
