Apri19, 2013 Page 8 of 9 Public Works Director Wyffels discussed the mill and overlay process with the Council in detail. He commented that the condition of the City's roadways were ifiewed by Staff this spring and it was recommended 23'd Avenue NW, Inca Lane, Sioux Boulevard, Tioga Lane, Canyon Lane, 16h Avenue NW, Wyndom Circle West, Wyndom Circle East and Wexford Heights Lane all be included in the mill and overlay project for 2013. This project would be funded from MSA construction/maintenance funds and Pavement Management Plan Funds. The total project cost at this time was $205,000. Staff explained that additional work was needed in these neighborhoods. However, there was a funding gap at this time of approximately $205,000. Staffrecommended the Council approve the emergency repair and replacement plan and authorize Staff to advertise for bids. The Council could also consider additional areas for inclusion in Project 13 -2C. He indicated Staff would advertise both bids and the Council could review the information in May. Councilmember Bauman requested the bids be broken down by area, as this would assist the Council in making a final decision on which areas could be funded. Staff s recommendation Councilmember Jacobsen and Councilmember Burg supported Motion by Councibnember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to approve an emergency repair and replacement plan and authorize Staff to advertise for segmented bids for the expanded Public Improvement Project 13-20, Mill and Overlay. 5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates Dean Lotter City Manager Lotter reported Town Hall evaluations have been received and the City received great scores across the board. He noted the Northwest Youth and Family Services Leadership Luncheon would be held on May 1St at 11:30 a.m. Gina Bauman Councilmember Bauman reported she attended the Cable Commission meeting last Thursday. Mary Burg Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission would be meeting on April 16th. She welcomed Troy Highland back to the City of New Brighton and thanked him for his service. Char Samuelson Councilmember har S Samuelson Samuelson reported she was not able to attend the recent Park and Recreation meeting due to a Council work session meeting.
