Director <br /> Wyffels stated this would not,as the PMP covered City owned pavement surfaces. <br /> Councilmember Bauman questioned why the concrete and bituminous projects were being spread out over <br /> two years. Director Wyffels stated the project was separated because two different contractors would be <br /> needed to complete the work He further discussed the finances associated with each projects. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen asked for clarification on the engineering service expense. Consideration of Bids and Award of Contract for City Project 13-7, Stinson <br /> Boulevard Concrete Repairs. Report No. 13-098. <br /> Director Wyffels commented that based upon the low bid from Interstate Improvement, Inc., <br /> Columbia Heights staff is recommending contract award of the base bid with Alternates 1 and <br /> 2, for a projected total of$701,359.50. The work within New Brighton is only a small portion <br /> of the overall project. The proposed impacts to New Brighton include the eastern half of <br /> Stinson Boulevard, from 225' south of Innsbruck Parkway to Argonne Drive. The bid <br /> breakout for the work located in New Brighton was $52,926. The Joint Powers Agreement <br /> includes an 8% engineering/administration fee, bringing New Brighton's financial obligation <br /> to $57,160.08. It was noted the project would be funded through MSA funds. Staff <br /> recommended the Council provide consent and approval of the City of Columbia Heights <br /> Resolution 2013-028 to award a contract for the described work. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen,seconded by Councilmember Burg to provide consent and <br /> approval of City of Columbia Heights Resolution 2013-028 to award a contract for Columbia Heights <br /> City Project No.1302,Concrete Street Rehabilitation to the lowest responsible bidder,Interstate <br /> Improvement,Inc. This consent includes authorizing $52,926 of street repairs on Stinson <br /> Boulevard. This project is also known as New Brighton City Project 13-7, Stinson <br /> Boulevard Concrete Repairs. He commented it would be branded with the New Brighton logo. He noted he <br /> would be attending the Minnesota Manager's Conference May 1-3.
