.June 11, 2013 Page 1 of 7 <br />Ky ow"k 0 c <br />Of <br />PI COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />the, (.Icy glut works for you THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday <br />June 11, 2013 at 6:30 pm in the New Brighton Council Chambers. <br />Present: Mayor Jacobsen, Councilmembers Bauman, Samuelson, Jacobsen and Burg <br />Absent: <br />Also Present: Dean Lotter -City Manager, Bob Jacobson - Director of Public Safety, Grant Fernelius- <br />Director of Community Development, Jason West- Assistance Parks and Recreation <br />Director; and Jason Hicks - Facilities Manager at the Community Center <br />Call to Order Call to order <br />Mayor Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. <br />Public Comment Forum <br />Mayor Jacobsen opened the Public Forum for comments from the public. <br />Courtney Morton, 715 Forestdale Road, discussed the happenings at the urban farm noting she <br />recently held a workshop on chickens and would be having a plant sale in the near future. She <br />then provided the Council with a copy of the Urban Farm newsletter. <br />Joy Root, 8566 Glenview Avenue in Cottage Grove, noted she was chosen to work at Lost Boy <br />Acres and recently attended the Chicken 101 workshop. She explained the workshop was a joy <br />to attend. <br />Sue Goot, 715 Forestdale Road, commented she was with the Lost Boy Acres and then <br />discussed the exchange program that has been established with the Girl Scouts of America and <br />4H. Ms. Goot then reviewed the additional educational opportunities available regarding urban <br />farming. <br />Kristie Kellis, 715 Forestdale Road, indicated she was the main chicken keeper at Lost Boy <br />Acres. She stated the work at the farm has been highly successful this year. <br />Council Agenda <br />Approval of the June 11, 2013 Council Agenda. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Samuelson to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays- Motion Carried <br />Public Comment <br />Forum <br />Council Agenda <br />Approval of the <br />June 11, 2013 Agenda. <br />Council Minutes I Council Minutes <br />
