July 23, 2013 Page 6 of 6 <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported staff met last Wednesday and Thursday to discuss the 2014 <br />budget. He commented this would be presented to the Council on August 201n <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman stated the Public Safety Commission would meet again on September <br />30th to discuss pedestrian safety on Old Highway 8 near the Dairy Queen. A recent golf event <br />at The Refuge was discussed. She encouraged all residents to take part in National Night Out. <br />She reported the Cable Commission would meet again on August 1 s1 <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC did not meet in July but would meet again in <br />August. He mentioned New Brighton Stockyard Days would take place on August 4th- August <br />12th. He encouraged all to participate in the community events. <br />Char Samuelson <br />Councilmember Samuelson reported the PREC met in July and reviewed some of the upgrades <br />proposed for the Community Center restrooms. The new totem pole at Totem Pole Park was <br />also discussed. Future parks for the New Brighton Exchange were also reviewed. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission did not meet in July. She noted the <br />next meeting would be held on August 20tH. She encouraged the public to get involved in the <br />urban farming task force. She noted the Mounds View Community Theater was still showing <br />Les Miserables through July 28tH <br />Mayor Jacobsen ' <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported Stockyard Days was an exciting event for the community to <br />participate in. He looked forward to taking part in the antique car show. He noted he met with <br />Congress women Betty McCollum last week. He noted he would also be talking with Ramsey <br />County to discuss road improvements through New Brighton. <br />Adeournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Samuelson, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to adjourn <br />the meeting. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays- Motion Carried, <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:33 p.m. <br />,I <br />Dave Ja sen, Mayor <br />%I. <br />ATTEST: <br />Daniel A.
