gwo city of <br /> "ANEW <br /> BRICK ION <br /> the city that works for you <br /> Council Worksession <br /> July 9, 2013 <br /> 5:00 pm <br /> Present: Mayor Dave Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br /> Councilmember Char Samuelson <br /> Councilmember Gina Bauman <br /> Absent: <br /> Staff in Attendance: Dean Lotter,Bob Jacobson, Grant Wyffels, Craig Schlichting <br /> Guests in Attendance: Kathleen Donovan, Luke Pfotenhauer, and Larry Schmidt representing Johnson <br /> Controls. <br /> Johnson Controls Proposal <br /> Director Wyffels reported that Johnson Controls conducted an energy audit on all of the City facilities, a <br /> Project Development Agreement was to submitted to the City. Ms. Donovan gave an overview of the proposal. <br /> Mayor Jacobsen asked for clarification of the total costs. Ms. Donovan explained that the total cost is not <br /> known, noting the project development agreement has a cost of$19,950.00 to move forward with the study. <br /> Manager Lotter offered various funding scenarios. Councilmember Bauman noted that the State Statute <br /> requires two quotes.Mayor Jacobsen and Councilmember Bauman stated they are not in favor of acquiring <br /> additional debt. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen clarified that the current request is to go forward with the study, noting the only way <br /> the $19,500.00 would be billed,would be in the event there was not a viable project. <br /> Director Wyffels noted there are many energy efficient suggestions, and the City will have the ability to <br /> determine which services would be the most cost effective. Councilmember Bauman expressed concern with <br /> spending resources. Councilmember Burg suggested council discuss the options further prior to making a <br /> decision.The council agreed. <br /> The work session adjourned at 6:30 pm. <br />
