1. Freestanding monument signs are allowed within the NWQ district, except in <br /> conjunction with Al or A2 Building Types, if constructed of the same exterior <br /> building materials and colors as the principal structure. <br /> 2. Freestanding monuments signs may be no more than 10 (ten) feet in height <br /> and no more than 50 (fifty) square feet in area per side. <br /> 3. One freestanding monument sign per lot per street frontage is allowed. <br /> 4. Freestanding signs in the NWQ district must be solid and opaque from the <br /> ground to the top of the sign, and the base of the sign must as wide or wider <br /> than the face of the sign. <br /> D. Box signs or cabinet signs, whether on a wall, projecting or on canopies, are <br /> prohibited, except for logo signs as approved as part of the overall signage plan. <br /> (5) Lighting. All exterior lighting levels shall be consistent with the character and <br /> intensity of surrounding areas and designed to relate to building architecture and <br /> landscaping. Lighting located adjacent to walkways and entrances to commercial <br /> buildings shall not exceed 15 feet in height. <br /> A. Parking lot lighting shall consist of cutoff fixtures and shall be located below the <br /> mature height of trees located in parking lot islands. <br /> Resource efficiency. All buildings and site plans within the NWQ District will be <br /> encouraged in the use of resource efficient building practices, including energy <br /> efficiency, water stewardship, waste reduction, use of recycled and non-toxic building <br /> materials, and recovery of waste materials through recycling or other beneficial use. <br /> Adopted this 24th day of September, 2013. <br /> Dave Jacobsen, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: Dean R.
