September 10, 2013 Page 5 of 6 <br />FRIENDLY AMENDMENT: Motion by Councilmember Bauman, seconded by Mayor Jacobsen to <br />decrease the levy by $417,200 with an additional $66,000 to be found by the final levy. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />2. Consideration of Resolution Adopting the Proposed Tax Levies for Taxes Payable in 2014 <br />for Lake Diane and Bicentennial Pond Storm Sewer Improvement Taxing Districts. Report <br />No. 13 -219. Resolution No. 13 -072. <br />City Manager Lotter stated the City has established Storm Sewer Improvement Taxing Districts within the <br />City for Lake Diane and Bicentennial Pond. He requested the Council approve a Resolution adopting the <br />proposed tax levies for taxes payable in 2014 for these districts. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to approve a Resolution <br />adopting the proposed tax levies for taxes payable in 2014 for Lake Diane and Bicentennial Pond <br />Storm Sewer Improvement Taxing District. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the ribbon cutting for Subway at the Community Center would <br />be held at 5:00 p.m. on September 24th. He discussed synching the sound with the City's <br />meeting playbacks and explained this concern has been brought to the attention of the Cable <br />Commission. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman commented the National Day of Service will be September 11, 2013. <br />She noted the Public Safety Department will be holding second round interviews this week. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked staff for the work they put into the 2014 budget. He noted <br />the EDC would possibly meet again on September 18, 2013. <br />Char Samuelson <br />Councilmember Samuelson reported the Park and Recreation Commission did not meet in <br />September. She indicated the group would be meeting again on September 11th <br />Mary Bury <br />Councilmember Burg thanked staff for their efforts on the 2014 budget. She commented the <br />Planning Commission would meet again on September 17, 2013. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported this Saturday, September 14, 2013 was New Brighton's clean up day. <br />He encouraged residents to take part in this event by bringing their unwanted goods to the <br />public works department building. He then discussed the varying perspectives the Council and <br />staff had when approaching the next year's budget. <br />2.
