November 26,2013 Page 1 of 4 14CitY Of agNallITON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS the city that works for you THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday November 26, 2013 at 6:30 pm in the New Brighton Council Chambers. Present: Mayor Jacobsen, Councilmembers Samuelson, Bauman,Jacobsen and Burg Absent: Also Present: Dean Lotter-City Manager, Bob Jacobson-Public Safety Director; and Dan Maiers- Finance Director Call to Order Call to order Mayor Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Public Comment Forum Public Comment Mayor Jacobsen opened the Public Forum for comments from the public. Forum Paul Bryant, 462 9th Avenue, expressed concern with City Code Chapter 17, Article 1, Section 1712, Subsection 1 regarding noise. He summarized that this code reads that no person shall cause or make any distinctly audible noise that unreasonably disturbs or precludes the enjoyment of their property. He discussed the noise concerns at his property and complained that has received no assistance from the City, or his landlord. Mr. Bryant assured the Council that he was not hypersensitive to noise,but was growing tired of the constant pounding, which began on May 1st. He provided the Council with a copy of the audio in his home and encouraged the Council to enforce the City's noise Ordinance. Public Safety Director Jacobson recommended Mr. Bryant speak with a Public Safety Officer before leaving this evening to discuss the matter in further detail. He invited Mr. Bryant to continue to contact the police department when his neighbors were disturbing the peace. Council Agenda Council Agenda Approval of the November 26 2013 Council Agenda.
