The contractor had to take extra care in the relocation and installation of storm sewer, <br />sanitary sewer, watermain and proposed structures or services to cross existing gas, fiber optic, electrical and <br />telephone /cable lines. Staff reached an agreement with the contractor as a result of recent negotiations. Staff does <br />not anticipate that any future change orders will be required for working in and around small utilities or to address <br />final quantities as installed. Please see attached payment breakdown for details. <br />Explanation: The project consists of the removal and replacement of the bituminous surfacing, the removal and <br />replacement of designated sections of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk improvements, storm sewer <br />improvements, sanitary sewer repairs, and watermain replacement on the following streets: <br />Windsor Lane - Entire Loop (Silver Lake Road) <br />Windsor Court - County Road E to Cul -de -sac <br />Windsor Way - Windsor Court to 20th Ave SW <br />Costs and Funding: This project will be funded from a combination of City of New Brighton general taxes, <br />Municipal State Aid funds, special assessments, and utility enterprise funds. The provisions of the contract with <br />Northwest Asphalt, Inc. stipulate that the City makes a partial payment to the contractor at least once each month <br />at regular intervals on the basis of the work performed during that preceding month. This partial payment also <br />reduces the retainage to 2 percent to cover tree /vegetation establishment, and authorizes payment of 98 percent of <br />the certified payment value. <br />) <br />G ,iit M.
