January 14, 2014 <br />Wireless placed an antenna at the 700 Silver Lake Road water tower, the Brighton Veterinary Hospital <br />improved the exterior of their building Mission Foods requested a third silo along with interior <br />irnprovexnents, Pulte Homes requested The Enclave in New Brighton Exchange, and there was a resident <br />garage construction and home expansion at 703 0 Avenue NW and 706' `n. Avenue NW. He reviewed the <br />items that would be discussed in 2014, which included discussion of a Shoreland Ordinance, code <br />amendments for the Northwest Quadrant, while also acting on redevelopment requests for the New Brighton <br />Exchange. He thanked City Planner Gundlach for her dedication to the Planning Commission. <br />Mayor Jacobsen thanked Chair Howard for his presentation and his 10 years of service to the community on <br />the Planning Commission. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen, Councilmember Bauman and Councilmember Burg commended Chair Howard <br />for his dedication and leadership to the City on the Planning Commission. <br />Public Safely Commission Chair Allen reviewed the members serving on the Public Safely Commission. He <br />discussed the purpose and responsibility of the Commission. He reviewed the groups' accomplishments in <br />2013, noting the Tobacco Ordinance was amended and crosswalks would be reviewed in 2014. He <br />commented an Allim substation would be located in Arden Hills. He was proud to report New Brighton won <br />1st place in the Nation by having 140+ parties held in the City for National Night Out when compared to cities <br />of comparable size. He discussed the Santa Cop program along with the Red Cross blood drive. He thanked <br />the numerous volunteers that make these and other valuable programs in the City possible. He appreciated <br />being able to work with the Public Safety Department. <br />Councilmember Bauman looked forward to serving as the Public Safety Commission Liaison in 2014. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked the Public Safety Commission for striving to keep the community safe. <br />Councilmember Burg was pleased to see how the City carne together each year for National Night Out <br />Mayor Jacobsen thanked Chair Allen for his service to the City and for his presentation. <br />Consent Agenda <br />1.
