January 14, 2014 Page 6 of 6 <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Public Safety Commission will meet on Monday, <br />January 27th at the Public Safety Center at 6:30 p.m. She discussed actions being taken by the <br />STEAM initiative on the TCAAP site through the Mounds View School District. She reported <br />the Cable Commission continues to discuss the rate orders with Comcast. At this time, <br />Comcast was in non - compliance and the FCC has been brought in. She provided comment on <br />the importance of the local PEG channels. She discussed the scholarship opportunities <br />available through the North Suburban Communications Commission. The deadline for this <br />year's scholarships was Friday, April 11, 2014. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the EDC would meet again in February. He wished <br />everyone a Happy New Year and looked forward to a wonderful 2014. <br />Mary Burs <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission would meet on January 21" and <br />Councilmember Jacobsen would be serving as the Council liaison. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission would <br />meet on January 15th. He stated the 1 -35W Corridor Coalition would meet on Tuesday, <br />January 281h. He indicated he looked forward to working with staff and Council in 2014. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Mayor Jacobsen reported he would be in Washington DC with City Manager Lotter. He would <br />report back to the Council on the Army negotiations after returning. <br />Adjournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Bauman, seconded by Councilmember Strub to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays- Motion Carried, <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. <br />Dave Ji(cobsen, Mayor <br />ATTEST: ` <br />Daniel A.
